All of april Vienna was host to the "Vienna Blues Spring" festival. Lots of
artists and bands played the festival. Hans was booked to play a solo gig on
his birthday (5.april). He performed at Fernwärme Wien for a packed house.
Lots of friends came to congratulate and to be part of the birthday bash. (--> see pics)
Most of the "Vienna Blues Spring" concerts took place at the club Reigen. Hans went to see some of his colleaques. a.o. Guy Davis and also Michael Hill who performed with his drummer Bill McClellan and guitarist Colin John. Hans last shared a show with Michael in Sydney, Australia, some years ago and he did a show with Colin John in Cambridge, England in 2002. It was nice meeting up again and the boys invited Hans to sit in on a few tunes. (--> see pics) |

End of April Hans did a rather short but successful solo tour in Holland. He played 5 shows in 4 days for packed houses! Some hardcore fans followed him around and drove hours to be at the concerts. There are two pics from the gig at the Bethesda hospital in Hoogeveen and there's a live review (in dutch) from the concert in Horst in "Dagblad De Limburger". The title says: "Hans Theessink sounds like a full orchestra". |
